Birds have always been a part of my life, from a kid when we had a canary and budgerigars and in my teens when I kept racing pigeons. However, the pigeons never did race, they just loafed around!

My interest in birds increased over the years as did my birdwatching, and more recently I took up bird photography which enables me to fully appreciate how wonderful birds are.

I first started to photograph birds by digiscoping but soon gave that up due to to the bird always seeming to move just as I was about to press the shutter release. So I moved on to a Panasonic DMC-FZ8 that was a great step up but still had its limitations.

I then decided to 'bite the bullet' and purchased my first DSLR, a Canon 40D-brilliant!
However, over quite some time I began to feel the 40D was lacking in some areas.

Two camera bodies on Canon announced the 7D, the camera I felt gave what was missing with the 40D and is the camera that I use today.

Living in Worcestershire, most of my bird photography tends to be local, particularly at Upton Warren Nature Reserve which is possibly the best birding site in the county.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my photos and should you wish, please leave a comment in the guest book.

Many thanks for visiting
